Holidays are coming!
Welcome to our October issue of By Kids 4 Kids!  The autumn is a special time for families and holidays.   In this issue, we'll be showing you some really fun Halloween projects to make with the little ones and an awesome family project to honor that special grandparent.

Quick Tip - Embroider with Microspun

Embroidery is trendy and Microspun yarn is PERFECT for quick projects!   Split the yarn as you would regular embroidery thread and use three strands.

Think of a design and start -- and because Microspun is thicker than regular embroidery thread, your design will be a reality in only a few minutes!

Felted Trick or Treat Bag
Have you heard a lot about felting?

We're here to keep you up-to-date with the latest and felting is it!  Lion Wool felts beautifully to create the thick, sturdy fabric needed to hold those all-important goodies!

Our super-cute Lion Wool felted trick-or-treat bag uses the intarsia knitting technique that we showed last issue in our Pocket Pet Calico Kitten knitting lesson plus bells, ribbon and beads to make child's keepsake first trick or treat bag.

Ghostly Fun

Want a quick, fun way to keep the kids entertained?

These little ghost decorations  (shown hanging from our chandelier) are just pom-poms made from Lion Suede and Wool-Ease, livened up with holiday ribbon, marker and stick-on eyes.

Even the little ones can make one!  Let the kids name them and make up a story about each.

Instant fun!

Family Lapghan and Memory Book

We wanted a special gift for a special grandparent and one that all the members of our family could work on together, even though we live in different states.  We decided to make a family lapghan and memory book.

We sent yarn and two memory book pages to each member of the family and they all created a single square which could be sewn together into a finished item.

When they returned their square, they also sent two pages that showed the square being made and sharing some special memories that they have of the person who is receiving the gift.

Talk about terrific!  The set was the hit of the party and has been treasured ever since!
