Ma Spa! Here is a basket full of goodies we made for Mom on her special day. We filled ours with:
All the projects work up in under 2 hours; if you have several crafters of varying levels of skill, this is a great project because the buff puff only requires the use of a large-eyed blunt needle and can easily be made by a kindergartener! We added some silk flowers and a nice assortment of lotion, bubble bath and sweet-smelling shower wash for a lovely gift! |

Quick Tip! |

| Look what we found! It came free around the tomatoes and makes a PERFECT holder to keep pull-skeins of yarn from unrolling when being used! |

Daisy Hotpad |
April showers bring May flowers. Our spool-knitting project for the month is a bright and cheerful daisy made from Lion Cotton. Use it as a hotpad on the table or a potholder in the kitchen. It's totally washable and gets thicker and nicer with washing! You could easily make this as a group project with each person making one or two petals. By the time an hour is up, you'll have enough for a finished piece! A skein of Lion Cotton will make several, so you can get three or four colors and mix and match for hours of creative fun! And, if you're babysitting, when Mom comes home, what a fun surprise for her when the kids say "I made it MYSELF and its just for YOU!" |

| Felted Project This design for a glasses case is a great first felting project and it goes perfectly with the felted tote that was shown in a previous adult newsletter. What is felting? Its a way to process items made of wool yarn so that the fibers in the knitting bond together into a thick, stable, non-stretchy fabric. In short -- the perfect material to protect your glasses from scratches! For more about felting click here. |
