made from Lion Brand Yarn.
I bought the US Afghan kit from Lion Brands after seeing a picture of it in your catalog. I made it for my grandson for Christmas 2003.
He was thrilled with his gift but didn't seem to be using it much. I thought maybe it was because it was a bit small and he likes to really wrap up in his afghans. Then one day I was cleaning out my yarn room and noticed this huge bag of leftover Wool Ease I had from his afghan. I thought maybe I'd use that yarn and just continue the border making the afghan larger and using up a lot of this leftover yarn.
So I unraveled my bind off and picked up the stitches and just kept knitting with one color in garter stitch until I thought I couldn't make another ridge.
I really like the way it turned out and can't wait to give it to him to see if he likes it as much as everyone else I've showed it to does - mainly my knitting group at Medrith Glover's The Woolroom in Quincy, CA.
That same year I made the World afghan in a Vogue magazine for my granddaughter, also out of Wool Ease. No problem with this one being big enough. It was huge.
