Privacy Shawl for a Breastfeeding Mom
Created By: Jessie Brooks
Craft: crochet
Materials: I used Lion Cotton in Morning Glory Blue, Natural & Black, just to be unorthodox, & a G hook, one size larger than recommended just 'cause I was a new-again crocheter (not done any crocheting but one afghan since 1984). It was so difficult to get the right number of stitches to increase & then decrease to keep the project edges as right-angled as possible. Since I was working from a knitting pattern I had NO guidance but, note to self, next time I have to remember to find & follow a pattern for 2 triangles! I'd do it again in a jiffy just for the interesting way the pattern came out!
Pattern Source: original:
I saw a knitted project that said beginner so I thought it'd be a good piece with which to start learning to knit. Wrong! I gave up but liked the pattern, in the diagonal, so much I decided I'd try to crochet it. This is the result. I ripped back so often, in the increasing & decreasing of it (it NEVER occurred to me to do 2 halves!) that I think I made it several times over! In any case, it came out pretty if a bit clumsy but she (my daughter-in-law & now brand-new mommy again!) likes it so it's all good!
