A Lion Brand Yarn Crochet Christmas!
Created By: Robin Schindler

For Christmas this year, after my sister-in-law Kim had raved about an incredible crochet scarf a friend of hers had been showing off, I decided to make her a literally "Incredible Scarf" out of Lion Brand's new "Incredible" ribbon yarn. I used the online "Crochet Rainbow Ribbon Scarf" pattern, changing the color to "Accent on Black".

It was a challenge working in ribbon yarn, as I'd never tried it before, but I went slowly, counted my stitches religiously, and crocheted as much by "feel" as by sight. Sometimes, I found, the hook knows where to go even when the crocheter doesn't!

The scarf was quite a hit with my sister-in-law, and she delighted in wearing it the rest of the evening. In this picture, purely by coincidence, she's also wearing the Prayer Shawl crocheted out of purple-shaded "Homespun" that I made for my mother a few years ago (Mom's house tends to be a little cold, and the shawl gets a lot of use in the winter). And, even though it's not Lion Brand and was crocheted a good decade ago, I'm pretty proud of the mile-a-minute Christmas afghan Kim is sitting on. Talk about a lot of projects in one image!
