Knitting for a cause

Twenty years ago I found I had breast cancer and had to have surgery. As a result I began to knit and crochet chemo hats and wash cloths. The breast care alliance gives breast care patients gift bags. The gift bags contain items to make life more comfortable at this time of their life. I have enjoyed giving of my time to help others that are going through what I experienced. Than my granddaughter and daughter started a team for relay for life after my granddaughter's paternal grandfather passed from cancer. Three of her grandparents have lost their battle with cancer but I am the only survivor. Each year I make an afghan which is chanced off with the money going to relay for life. This year I knitted the afghan that I found in the free patterns. I am now in the process of completing another afghan that I hope to complete in time for this years event.

I retired two years ago and now I spend as much time as I can trying to give back. I believe that giving back can help others on their journey.

I use Vannas choice most of all. I love the colors, the quality and how the finished product looks.

Thank you for making such a wonderful product.

My hope is that one day there will be no need for chemo hats or prayer shawls because one day we will have a cure.
