Each rep = 7 3/4 in (20 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. RIPPLE STITCH PATTERN (multiple of 21)
Row 1 (RS) *K into the front and back of the first st, k 8, sl 1-k2togpsso, k 8, k into the front and back of the next st; rep from * to last rep, end k 7, k into the front and back of the next st, k 1.
Row 2 (WS) K.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for pattern.


With A cast on 105 sts and, beginning with Row 1, work pattern for 14 rows; then work 10 rows in B; and 12 rows in C.

Continue alternating A, B, and C as follows: 10 rows in A; 8 rows in B; 10 rows in C; 8 rows in each color; then 10 rows A; 8 rows B; 10 rows C; 12 rows in A; 10 rows in B; 14 rows in C.

Bind off to match cast on gauge.

With crochet hook and RS facing, work 1 row sc, matching colors along side edges.
