Size 9 (5.5 mm) - 16 inches circular knitting needle
GAUGE:
13 sts + 20 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Rev St st (p on RS, k on WS) on larger needles. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
Loop st K 1, do not slip st off left needle; bring yarn to front between needles; pass yarn over left thumb to make a loop approximately 1 1/4" tall; bring yarn back between needles; k the same st again and slip off needle; yo; pass 2 sts just worked over yo, locking loop in place.

ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip the next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to the right needle; insert the left needle into the fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

M1 as if to purl (make 1 st as if to purl) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between the needles and placing it onto the left needle.

Purl this new stitch through the back loop.

NOTES:
The tunic is worked in Rev St st, so the purl side of the fabric is the RS.
