Additional Materials
Size 8 (5 mm) 16 inches (40 cm), 24 inches (60 cm) and 32 inches(80 cm) circular needles
GAUGE:
18 sts + 24 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in St st (knit every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
M1 (make 1 st) knit rows: Insert left needle from front to back under horizontal strand between st just worked and next st on left needle.

Knit this new stitch through the back loop.

M1 (make 1 st) purl rows: Insert left needle from back to front under horizontal strand between st just worked and next st on left needle.

Purl this new stitch through the front loop.

NOTES:
Many different lengths of circular needles are called for since Poncho begins with few sts and ends with very many.

Change to longer length and add needles as needed.

Use a different colored marker to indicate beg of rnd.
