12.75 sts + 19.25 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with MC. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Work 17 (19, 21, 21, 23, 25) rows even.
Shape Neck<: K3tog 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 5) times, k2tog 21 (22, 22, 24, 26, 27) times, k3tog 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 5) times – 29 (30, 32, 34, 36, 37) sts.
Change to CC and work 4 (5, 6, 6, 7, 8) rows St st for neck trim.
Bind off all sts.
Work as for Back.
Sew shoulder seams from bound off CC edge to end of cast on sts at armhole.
Sew side seams from edge of bound off sts at underarm to beg cast on.
Weave in ends.
With CC and crochet hook, work 50 single crochet around large ponytail elastic.
