GAUGE:
12.75 stitches + 16 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Stockinette Stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

NOTES:
Row 1 establishes right side.

INSTRUCTIONS

PILLOW SIDES - Make 2
Cast on 40 stitches.

Work in Stockinette Stitch until piece measures 12 1/2" from beginning.

Bind off all stitches, leaving long tail on 2nd piece for sewing, and weave in ends.

Place pieces together with right sides facing out and top and bottom reversed (Row 1 of 1 piece line up with last row of other piece).

With tail of yarn, sew together with whipstitch on 3 sides, sewing through ends of stitches and rows.

Insert pillow and sew last side.

Weave in end.
