12 sts = 4" [10 cm] in pattern st When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. Continuing in Stripe Sequence, work in Large Chevron st until piece measures 25 (27)" [63.5 (68.5) cm] from beg; end with a WS row.

Then reverse Stripe Sequence until piece measures 47 (51)" [119.5 (129.5) cm] from beg; end with a WS row.

Dec Row (RS) K 1, M1, [(k2tog) twice, sk2p, (k2tog) twice, M1, k 1, M1] 3 times, (k2tog) twice, sk2p, (k2tog) twice, M1, k 1 – 33 sts.

Next Row Purl.

Continuing in reverse Stripe Sequence as established, work in Small Chevron st for 3" [7.5 cm].

Bind off.


Starting at each cuff, sew a 12" [30.5 cm] sleeve seam.

With RS facing and 2 strands of C held tog, beg at underarm seam, pick up and knit 72 (78) sts across bottom edge and 72 (78) sts across top edge – 144 (156) sts.

Place marker and join.
