Fisherman Shrug

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®

GAUGE:

9 sts and 14 rows = 4 in (10 cm) in St stitch pattern (knit RS rows, purl WS rows) using size 10½ needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

In this pattern, the larger size needles are used for the cuff and collar ribbing. The smaller size needles are used for the body parts knit in stockinette stitch.

Fisherman Shrug Reviewed by Buffy Lowe on 2009-05-22 ***
I made this shrug prior to seeing the corrections. I had to rip out the ribbing around the body because it made the sweater way too tight. I reknit the ribbing more loosely and cast-off really, really loosely the second time. It helped, and stretching the ribbing while steaming helped. It is a really warm sweater, next time I'd use a lighter yarn and make a larger size.
