GAUGE:
12 sts + 16 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in K2, P2 Rib (slightly stretched). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

INSTRUCTIONS



SHOULDER PIECES - Make 2

Cast on 28 sts.

Work 12 rows in Garter st (k every row).

Place sts on holder.



NECK RIBBING

Slip 56 sts of shoulder pieces to needle.

Work 12 rows K2, P2 Rib.

Bind off in rib.



FINISHING

Referring to diagram, lap right end over left end of ribbed section so they are perpendicular.

Sew ends to base of ribbing on right side and wrong side.

Weave in ends.
