GAUGE:

3 sc and 2 ch-5 sps = 2½" [6.5 cm].3 sc and 2 ch-5 sps = 2½" [6.5 cm].
Rows 1 and 2 = 1½" [4 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

RUFFLED STOLE
Ch 50.
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 5, sk 3 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * – 13 sc and 12 ch-5 sps. Turn.
Row 2 Ch 6, sc in first ch-5 sp, *ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp; rep from * to last sc, ch 3, dc in last sc. Turn.
Row 3 Ch 1, sc in first ch-3 sp, *ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp; rep from *, end ch 5, sc in last ch-6 sp. Turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 60" [152.5 cm] from beginning, end Row 2.

Next Row Sc in first ch-3 sp, *ch 3, sc in next ch-5 sp; rep from *, end ch 3, dc in last sc. Turn.

Ruffle
Row 1 Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in first sc and in each ch-3 sp and sc across. Turn.
Row 2 Ch 1, (sc, ch 2, sc) in first ch-2 sp, *sk next sc, ch 2, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * to end of row. Turn.
Rows 3 and 4 Ch 1, sc in first ch-2 sp, *ch 2, sc in next ch-2 sp; rep from *. Fasten off.
Join yarn at corner at remaining end of Stole and repeat Ruffle along opposite side of beginning ch.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
