GAUGE:
14 sts + 18 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

So wish that I had read these reviews before I took on this project! This was my first cable project & it started out beautifully, but about 6 inches in the sides started to curl in. I thought, no problem, I'll just fix it when I block it. No such luck. I've tried twice to block it but the sides curl in so badly that the scarf is unwearable. I'm so sad because it looks so lovely otherwise! Maybe if the sides are in seed stitch instead of garter as someone else suggested? Regardless, it's too late for this one.
