GAUGE:
9 stitches = 5 in. [12.5 cm] in garter stitch (knit every row) with 1 strand each of A, B and C held together. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

INSTRUCTIONS

SCARF
With 1 strand each of A, B, and C held together, cast on 9 stitches.

Work in garter stitch (knit every stitch, every row) until piece measures 27 in.

[68.5 cm] from beginning.

Bind off.

Weave in ends.

Fringe
From each color yarn, cut 38 strands, each 18 in.

[45.5 cm].

For each fringe, hold 2 strands of each color together and fold in half.

With crochet hook draw fold through edge of piece, forming a loop.

Pull ends of fringe through loop and tighten.

Make 19 fringes along one long edge.

Trim fringe ends evenly.

If desired, add a few additional fringe strands to each top corner to be used as ties.
