GAUGE:
16 sc + 18 rows = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
Chain Stitch Chain stitch (embroidery)Bring threaded needle from WS to RS through crocheted piece.
* Insert needle back into where it last came out, do not pull tight, and form a small loop on RS.
Bring needle back through to RS of piece and through small loop Repeat from * until chain is desired length.
French Knot Thread needle and bring from WS to RS through crocheted piece.
Wrap yarn around needle 3 times, insert needle back into crocheted piece close to where it emerged.
Tighten knot.
sc2tog (sc dec) Insert hook into stitch and draw up a loop.
Insert hook into next stitch and draw up a loop.
Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.
INSTRUCTIONS
RECTANGLE BODY (make 2) With A, ch 22.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 21 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
Rep Row 2 until Rectangle measures 8 in.

LEGS AND ARMS (make 4)
With B, ch 3, sl st in beg ch to form ring.
