GAUGE:

12 sts + 14 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in sc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc dec) Insert hook into stitch and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next stitch and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

LEAF (Make 20 with A, 10 each with B, C, D, E)
Ch 3. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in last ch – 2 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Sc in each sc. Ch 1, turn.
Next Row: Inc 1 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, inc 1 in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rep last row 3 more times – 10 sc.
Work even for 5 rows.
Next Row: Sl st in first 2 sts, 6 sc, sk last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
Next Row: Sc2tog over first 2 sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Rep last row 4 times. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

BOBBLE (Make 10 with B)
Ch 3.
Work 5 dc in first sc. Ch 3, turn
(Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops) 5 times. Yarn over and draw through all 6 loops on hook to close bobble. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

FELTING
Wash by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several pieces of clothing to agitate. To felt additionally, dry by machine on a regular setting until almost dry. Remove from dryer and pull into shape.

FINISHING
Sew Leaves and Bobbles together as desired.
