GAUGE: 13 sts + 11 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in k 2, p 2. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

I made this and it turned out pretty good.. It did turn out quite large, and will probably make it again with smaller needles.I have only been knitting for a couple of years, and still do not understand the gage thing..LOL, so i just go with the flow and hope for the best.
