GAUGE:

16 sts (one pattern repeat) = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. BACK
Cast on 67 sts. Work Rows 1-26 of Diamond Pattern. Rep Rows 3-26, placing markers at the beg and end of Row 26. Rep Rows 3-11 of Diamond Pattern - 51 sts.
Shape Top
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2: K1, p49, k1.
Row 3: K2, *k3, k2tog; rep from *, end k4 – 42 sts.
Row 4: K1, p40, k1.
Row 5: K10, bind off next 3 sts, k to last 13 sts, bind off next 3 sts, k to end of row – 36 sts.
Working on last 10 sts only, work 7 rows in St st. Bind off. Rejoin yarn and work 7 rows in St st on center 16 sts. Bind off. Rep on remaining 10 sts.

FRONT
Work same as for Back

FINISHING
Sew bottom and side seams of Purse up to the marked row. Fold rows above markers over handles and sew in place.
