GAUGE:

16 sts (one pattern repeat) = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

STITCH EXPLANATION

m1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop.

great design, would like better pattern Reviewed by Danielle Kerr on 2008-04-18 ****
This is a fun and easy knit pattern, and my finished object turned out great! My only problem with the pattern is that it requires seaming (which I HATE) - I'd like to see a pattern that incorporates in-the-round knitting.

To the reviewer who was asking about the handles, I found the exact handles used in the picture at my local JoAnn ETC store (they are not available on the JoAnn website). The purse handles are put out by a company called "Purse-n-alize-it!" The item number listed on it is 900019521.
