GAUGE:
13 stitches + 20 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) before felting. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
INSTRUCTIONS
DRAFT STOPPER
With A, cast on 42 stitches. Work in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side)in the following stripe pattern:

Felting
Wash Draft Blocker by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several piecesof clothing to agitate. To felt additionally, dry by machine on a regular setting until almost dry.Remove from dryer and pull into shape.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half lengthwise and seam ends. From right side, sew side seam leaving a 3 in. [7.5cm] opening. Using a funnel or piece of stiff paper rolled into a cone shape, fill Draft Blockerwith litter, then sew opening closed. For more about felting, click here.
