Romantic Speed Hook Shawl

GAUGE: Exact gauge is not essential to this project.
NOTES: Gauge is 7 single crochet + 7 rows = 4 in. [10 cm]. Due to the nature of the fabric when working with a Speed Hook, gauge may vary throughout the project. EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.

SHAWL
Chain 4 for foundation chain.
Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across – 3 single crochet.
Row 2: Chain 1, turn, 2 single crochet in first single crochet, single crochet across to last
single crochet, 2 single crochet in last single crochet – 5 single crochet.}
Repeat last row until there are 105 single crochet. Do not fasten off.
FINISHING
Edging
Working along side edge of shawl, work 2 single crochet in end of each row; along foundation
chain, single crochet in first chain, 3 single crochet in next chain, single crochet in last chain;
working along the adjoining side edge of shawl, work 2 single crochet in end of each row. Fasten
off. Weave in ends. |

| I used the hometown USA which is a 6 super bulky and a speed hook and it came out way tighter than the picture but it's warm and very easy to make. Also with the hometown I had to use about 4 1/2 balls. From what I've seen the homespun comes out lighter and lacier looking that mine so that will be what I make it with next. :) I do hope to find a yarn that will have it come out as lacy as the picture. Anyone who can help its much appreciated. Aside from that perfect for a beginner or gifts. Love this pattern. - AM
