Reversible Cabled Scarf

GAUGE:
10 sts + 14 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Stockinette st (k on right side, p on wrong side). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
2/2 LC (2 over 2 left cross) Slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold in front of work, k2, then k2 from cable needle. 2/2 RC (2 over 2 right cross) Slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold in back of work, k2, then k2 from cable needle.
SCARF
With A, cast on 20 sts. Rows 1 and 3: P4, *k4, p4, rep from * across. Rows 2 and 4: K4, * p4, k4, rep from * across. Row 5: *P4, 2/2 LC; rep from * across, end p4. Rows 6 and 8: Rep Row 2. Rows 7 and 9: Rep Row 1. Row 10: *2/2 RC, p4; rep from * across, end 2/2 RC.
Rep Rows 1-10 until Scarf measures approximately 36 in. [91.5 cm] from beg, end with a Row 2. Change to B and continue in pattern as established until Scarf measures approximately 72 in. [183 cm] from beg, end with a Row 3. Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

This was a simple, fast pattern. Turned out better than the picture haha. I used one color instead of two and plan to give it to my father for Father's Day. Looks like it will be perfect for cold snowy days!
