I've made this sweater a number of times. Here is my latest with a couple of modifications. First my daughter loved the sweater but not the way it flared out. So to make it more figure flattering and fitted, I ommited the increase between the cables on the front and back to make it fall straighter. I also shortend the overall sweater to 15" and then picked up stitches along the bottom and added a garter stitch border hem to match the neckline. I think this ties the top and bottom of the sweater in very nicely. I also used a "cotton ease" type yarn instead of wool so you can wear it with out a shirt underneath and not itchy. I think it turned out really nice and she loves it. I would definitley make this again. This pattern is a lot of fun to knit.
