Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® - Tiffany

GAUGE:

20 sc + 27 rows = 4 in. [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc dec) (Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook – 1 sc decreased

NOTES:

Rounds are worked in continuous spirals; do not join and do not turn. Use marker to indicate beg of rnds.

HEAD
With A, beg at center of face, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first chain. Mark first st for beg of rnd; move marker up each rnd.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 2 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 3 sc; rep from * around – 30 sc.

Fasten off.

Sew 2 buttons to face for eyes. If doll is for a small child, substitute 2 felt circles for button eyes. With A, embroider a few straight stitches onto center of first rnd for nose. With floss, embroider straight stitch smile several rnds below nose. With cotton swab, apply a small amount of blush to cheeks.

Join D to head with sc, beginning at back of Head, just above last rnd. Work in sc with D around Head, working in a spiral towards last rnd. Work loosely to avoid pulling Head out of shape. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Amigurumi 'Shelly' Girl Doll Reviewed by Heather on 2008-03-08 *****
I really enjoyed making this doll. It was one of my first projects. I made it using different moves because I didn't know how to do all of the different chains yet and I'm sure my gauge was way off, and it still came out looking like the picture, so that to me makes this a great project for anyone to do no matter the skill, it really is EASY when other projects on here say it's easy and it should be rated a little higher.
