GAUGE:

7 dc + 6 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

dc2tog (dc dec) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops. Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

Vintage Tie Jacket Reviewed by ricardo on 2009-04-18 *
I tried to make this sweater for my mom, well what a disaster. It looks more like a smock worn for art class. I was very disappointed but one lives and learns. I found myself rechecking measurements because i could not believe what it ended up looking like. I should have read the reviews before i went to work making this sweater.
