GAUGE:

14 sts + 26 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stripe pattern with larger needles. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Boy's Striped Cardigan Reviewed by Susan Brown on 2012-04-20 **
I made this sweater for my grandson with Vanna's Choice yarn. It turned out beautifully -- his mother was very pleased. It fit him well. However, after wearing it began to stretch and stretch. Washing and drying didn't snap it back into shape. I think he'll still be wearing it when he's 10.

I'm very disappointed with Vanna's Choice yarn.
