GAUGE: 10 sc = 4 in [10 cm] BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. AFGHAN
1 • Using Color A, loosely ch 124.
2 • Foundation Row 1 (right side) Sc in second ch from hook and in
each ch across: 123 sts.
3 • Rows 2-12 Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to end.
4 • Row 13 Using Color B, ch 1, turn; sc in first 3 sc,
*1 FPdc, 1 FPtr, 1 FPdc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * across to end.
5 • Rows 14-16 Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to end.
6 • Using Color C, rep Steps 4 and 5.
7 • Using Color B, rep Steps 4 and 5.
8 • Using Color A, rep Step 4.
9 • Rep Step 3.
10 • Rep Steps 4-9 seven more times. Finish off, and weave in loose
ends.
PILLOW (Following Steps 1-11, make 2)
1 • Using Color A, loosely ch 46.
2 • Foundation Row 1 (right side) Sc in second ch from hook and
in each ch across: 45 sts.
3 • Rows 2-10 Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to end.
4 • Row 11 Using Color B, ch 1, turn; sc in first 3 sc,
*1 FPdc, 1 FPtr, 1 FPdc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * across to end.
5 • Rows 12-14 Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to end.
6 • Using Color C, rep Steps 4 and 5.
7 • Using Color B, rep Steps 4 and 5.
8 • Using Color A, rep Step 4.
9 • Still using Color A, work 11 rows by ch 1, turn; sc in each sc
across to end.
10 • Rep Steps 4-8.
11 • Still using Color A, work 9 rows by ch 1, turn; sc in each sc
across to end. Finish off, and weave in loose ends.
12 • Place two pillow pieces together, with right sides facing out.
After working 3 out of 4 border sides as described below in Round 1, slip pillow
form inside and work final Round 1 border side.
13 • Using Color A,
Round 1 Join pillow front and back together by working 41 sc on each side
and 3 sc at each corner.
Round 2 Ch 1, 1 sc, *ch 2, skip 1 sc, 1 sc; rep from * to end. You now
have 21 small scallops on each pillow side and 1 small scallop at each corner.
