GAUGE:
18 sts and 24 rows = 4" on size 9 needles. TO INSURE PROPER SIZE, BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
ssk= slip, slip, knit: Slip the next 2 sts knitwise, one at a time, from the tip of the left-hand needle to the tip of the right-hand needle; insert the left-hand needle into the fronts of these 2 sts from the left and k them tog from this position.

NOTES:
When working part for an eyelet pat (not a complete multiple of 12 sts) be sure to keep number of pat sts consistent (you must have a yo for each st decreased).
