GAUGE: 15 half double crochet = 5 in. (12.5 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

BLANKET
With A, chain 94.
Row 1: Work a half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and each chain across - 92 half double crochet.
Row 2: Chain 2, half double crochet in each stitch across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 30 in. (76 cm) square. Fasten off.
Border
Join B with a slip stitch.
Round 1: Chain 2, work half double crochet evenly spaced around, working 3 half double crochet in each corner; join with a slip stitch in top of beginning chain-2.
Round 2: Chain 2, half double crochet in each stitch around, working 5 half double crochet in center stitch at each corner, join with slip stitch in top of beginning chain-2.
Repeat Round 2 until border measures 3 in. (7.5 cm).
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

| I made this blanket for my first bigger crochet project and it was wonderful. The wool is very soft and it is great for a baby or for when they get older. I will be making this blanket again in the near future for the next little baby!
