GAUGE:
13 1/2 sts + 11 1/2 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in hdc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

BLANKET With A, ch 118. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 117 sts. Rows 2-27: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across; change to B in last st of last row. Rows 28 and 29: With B, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to A in last st of last row. Rows 30 and 31: With A, ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across; change to B in last st of last row. Rows 32 and 33: Rep Rows 28 and 29. Rows 34-73: Rep last 4 rows 10 times for a total of 23 stripes. Rows 74-100: With A, ch 1, turn, sc in each st across; change to C in last st of last row. Do not fasten off. Edging Rnd 1: With C, sc evenly around edges of Blanket, working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st in first sc. Rnd 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st around, working 3 sc in each corner st; join with sl st in first sc. Rnd 3: Ch 1, do not turn, sc in each st around, working 3 sc in each corner st; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off. POCKET With C, ch 23. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 22 sc. Rows 2-42: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. Do not fasten off.
