Knit Hat
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®
GAUGE:
9 sts + 13 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
Hat is worked as flat rectangle, then seamed to make a tube.

Work in Stockinette stitch for 9 rows.

FINISHING
Sew seam. Weave in ends.
Following package directions, make a pompom and tie to top of Hat.
Really cute hat and very easy pattern for beginner knitters. The pattern DOES come out very small however (as previously stated). I cast on 48 stitches instead of 44 like the pattern states and increased the stockinette rows to 15 instead of 9. It came out perfect for the average adult female head. I also made the pom-pom floppy instead of tight. Great hat. (If I were to make this hat for a man, I would cast on 52 stitches and possibly increase the stockinette rows to 17, depending on head size).
