Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE:
17 sts + 17 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in sc. EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.
NOTES:
Hippo is worked in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed. Place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.

I found the placement of the front and back legs a little difficult to get even. I also was not sure if the open sections of them were suppose to have stuffing in them. I finally got everything sewed on evenly and she is really cute.
