GAUGE:

14 sc = 4 in. (10 cm) with A and before felting. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Felted Witch Hat Reviewed by Sherri Bero on 2011-10-25 ****
I liked this pattern, and it was easy to follow, however the brim is quite floppy, which does not show in the picture. I added a few extra rows to it, as it just didn't seem like it was going to be big enough. Because I didn't like the floppiness of the brim, I used mechanics wire around the brim after it was completed to make it stay up. I then added a few stick on jewels, for some BLING!
