GAUGE:

14 sc = 4 in. (10 cm) with A and before felting. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Felted Witch Hat Reviewed by Lynne Heintz on 2012-09-16 *****
My son wanted to be Gandalf for Halloween. I couldn't find a white wizard hat anywhere so I ended up making one using this pattern. I did not have wool, so I didn't felt it. I didn't have fun fur but it wouldn't have been suitable anyway. It was quick and easy to make and was perfect for his costume.
