GAUGE:

14 sc = 4 in. (10 cm) with A and before felting. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Place marker for beg of rnd and move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around - 8 sc.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) 4 times - 12 sc.
Rnd 5: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 6: (2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts) 4 times - 16 sc.

Felting
Wash by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several pieces of clothing to agitate. To felt additionally, dry by machine on a regular setting until almost dry. Remove from dryer and pull into shape.
