GAUGE:
12 single crochet + 14 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next last sc - 6 sc. Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first 3 sc, ch 1, 2 sc in same sc as last sl st worked, 2 sc in next sc; leave last 2 sc unworked - 4 sc. Rows 6 and 7: Rep Rows 4 and 5. Row 8: Rep Row 4. Row 9: Ch 1, turn, sl st in first 3 sc, ch 1, sc in same sc as last sl st worked, sc in next sc; leave last 2 sc unworked - 2 sc. Row 10: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog - 1 sc. Fasten off. FINISHING Weave in ends. Use straight pins to pin to wreath as desired.
