Amigurumi Elephant Reviewed by Heather Buckholtz on 2010-01-24
Super cute when completed and very quick. This elephant was smaller than I expected, but that only makes it cuter.
TRUNK- Be warned, the trunk will make your hands cramp, working with such a small space. As another reviewer said, you will need to do some creative needle stitching with his trunk to shape it, and be very careful not to overstuff it.
LEGS- Some said their elephant would not stand up, but mine does just fine. Part of that being I did not sew the legs shut before sewing them onto the body. So rather than having a straight line of leg to sew, I followed the circumfrence of the leg around, stitching it to the body as I went. I also made sure to SUPER STUFF his little feet. ^_^
Another side note on attatching the ears- Bobby pins work great to hold them in place while sewing, so they don't slide around and get sewn on incorrectly.
Not an amigurumi for a first timer, but definitely worth making for those with experience!!
