GAUGE:
20 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with smaller needles.
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
Make Bobble (K1, yarn over, k1) all in next st; turn and k3; turn and p3; turn and k3, turn and k3 together - Bobble made.
BRACELET COVER STRIP
With smaller needles, cast on 48 sts.
Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 1/2 in. [1.3 cm] from beginning, end with a WS row. Row 1: Change to larger needles. K4, make Bobble in next st, *k5, make Bobble in next st, rep from * to last st, k1. Rows 2 and 4 (WS): Purl. Row 3: Knit. Row 5: K1, make Bobble in next st, *k5, make Bobble in next st, rep from * to last 4 sts, k4. Row 6: Purl.
Change to smaller needles.
Work in St st until piece measures 2 1/2 in. [6.5 cm] from beginning. Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew ends of strip together. Wrap strip around purchased bracelet, with St st portion to inside of bracelet. Sew strip edges together. Weave in ends.
