GAUGE:

EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES:

Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.

BODY AND HEAD
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beginning of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 36 sts.
Rnds 7 -18: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 19: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.
Rnd 20: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.

Rnd 5: Sc in each of next 7 sts, (sc2tog) twice, sc in each of next 7 sts - 16 sc. Change to A.
Rnd 6: Sc in each of next 6 sts, (sc2tog) twice, sc in each of next 6 sts - 14 sts.
Rnds 7-16: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off.

NOSE
With B, ch 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beg of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnds 3 and 4: Sc in each st around. Stuff Nose firmly.
Rnd 5: Sc2tog around.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave tail through last rnd and gather tightly. Knot to secure.

EARS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnds 1 and 2: Work same as Rnds 1 and 2 of Nose.
Fasten off.

TAIL
With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beg of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in first st, sc in each of next 3 sts - 5 sts.
Rnd 3: Work 2 sc in first st, sc in each of next 4 sts - 6 sts.
Rnd 4: Work 2 sc in first st, sc in each of next 5 sts - 7 sts.
Rnd 5: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off.

ANTLERS (make 2)
With B, ch 2
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beg of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around.
Rep Rnd 2 until piece measures 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm) long, stuffing as you go. Fasten off.

ANTLER BRANCHES (make 2)
Make same as Antlers, working until piece measures 1 in (2.5 cm) long.

COLLAR
With C, ch 25.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 24 sts.
Fasten off.

BELL
With D, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beg of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 8 sts.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around. Stuff firmly.
Rnd 5: Sc2tog around.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave tail through last rnd and gather tightly. Knot to secure.

FINISHING
Stuff Legs and sew to Body. Fold Ears in half and sew at one edge, sew this edge to Head.
Sew Antler Branches to Antlers, sew Antlers to Head. Stuff Tail and sew to Body.
Sew Collar around neck, sew Bell to front of Collar.
Weave in ends.
