STITCH EXPLANATION: | sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES: Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.

HEAD AND BODY
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beginning of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnds 4 -7: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 8: *Sc2tog, sc in next sc, rep from * around - 12 sts.
Rnd 9: Sc in each sc around. Stuff head.
Rnd 10: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnd 12: *2 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 2 sc, rep from * around - 24 sts.
Rnds 13-22: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 23: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sc, rep from * around - 18 sts.
Fasten off.
ARMS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beginning of round; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 8 sc.
Rnds 3- 6: Sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Stuff Body. Sew lower edge of Body closed. Stitch through all layers along center of Body for about 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm) above lower edge for legs.
Sew Arms just below head.
With black yarn, embroider French knot eyes. With green, embroider 2 French knots on front of Body for buttons.
With red, embroider a straight stitch smile.
With white, embroider straight stitch zigzags just above lower edge.
Knot a length of A to top of head for hanging loop.
Weave in ends. |
