(189 yd/170m) balls. Product is also available in some colors in a 1 pound (16oz/453g 755 yd/690m) money-saving size as Item #750.
*CottonEase (Article #700) is a versatile, soft cotton blend worsted weight yarn 50% Cotton/50% Acrylic. It comes in 3.5 oz/100g (207 yd/188m) balls

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES:

Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.

BASE
With crochet hook and A, ch 2.
Rnd 1:
Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2:
Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnd 3:
*2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnd 4:
*2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 sc.

SIDE

With knitting needles and A, cast on 39 sts.
Row 1 (WS):
* Purl 1, knit 2, rep from * around.
Row 2:
* Purl 2, knit 1* rep around.
Rows 3-12:
Rep Rows 1 and 2. Bind off.

FROSTING
Foundation
With crochet hook and B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 3 sc in first ch. Place marker in first stitch for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 6 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 9 sts.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 12 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 15 sts.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 18 sts.
Rnd 7: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 5 sts, rep from * around - 21 sts.
Rnd 8: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 6 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.
Rnd 9: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 7 sts, rep from * around - 27 sts.
Rnd10: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 8 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.
Rnd11: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 9 sts, rep from * around - 33 sts.
Rnd12: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 10 sts, rep from * around - 36 sts.

Fasten off.

Frosting Swirl
With knitting needles and B, cast on 8 sts.
Row 1 (WS): Purl across.
Row 2: Knit .
Rep Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures about 30 in. (76 cm). Bind off.

FINISHING
Seam ends of Side to make a loop. Sew one edge of Side to Base. Weave in ends. Insert a small amount of stuffing, then a foam half ball. Arrange Frosting Foundation over foam ball and sew to Side. Glue one end of Frosting Swirl to top center of Foundation. Glue remainder of Swirl in a spiral over Foundation. Weave in ends.
