INSTRUCTIONS



BREAD SLICE (make 2) With spool knitter and A, make a cord about 50 in.

(127 cm) long.

Beg at center, and sewing together as you work, coil cord into a rectangle about the size and shape of a bread slice.

With B and spool knitter, make a cord about 5 in.

(12.5 cm) long.

Sew to one edge of Slice for crust.

HAM With knitting needles and 2 strands of D, cast on 20 sts.

Holding 2 strands together as one, work in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) until piece measures about 4 in.

(10 cm) from beg.

Bind off.

LETTUCE LEAF With crochet hook and E, ch 26.

Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch to last, work 5 sc in last ch to form tip of leaf; working along opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each ch to last, work 3 sc in last ch.

Join with sl st in beg st.

Rnd 2: Sc in each st around, working 3 sc in center st at tip.

Change to working in rows.

Next Row: Sl st over first 3 sts, sc in each st to tip, work 3 sc in center st at tip, sc in each st to last 4.

Ch 1, turn.

Rep last row once.

Do not fasten off.

Edging Sc evenly around outside edge of ‘leaf’, join with sl st in beg st.

Next Rnd: *2 dc in next st, sl st in next st, rep from * around.

Fasten off.

TOMATO SLICE #1 With crochet hook and C, ch 4.

Join with sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring.

Join with sl st in beg st.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp, then work 2 dc in each st around.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same sp, *dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around.

Fasten off.

TOMATO SLICE #2 With crochet hook and F, ch 4.

Join with sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring.

Join with sl st in beg st.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp, then work 2 dc in each st around.

Change to C.

Rnd 3: With C, ch 3, dc in same sp, *dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next st of Rnd 1, 2 dc in next dc, repeat from * around.

Fasten off.

FINISHING With A, embroider chain st ‘seeds’ on Tomatoes.

Weave in ends.
