GAUGE:
1 Flower Motif = 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. (11 x 11 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
Cl (cluster) Yarn over, insert hook in indicated st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook, (yarn over, insert hook in same st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

NOTES:
The Motifs may be joined ‘as you go’ or sewed tog after all Motifs have been crocheted.

Choose whichever way of joining that you are more comfortable with!

To assemble the Afghan by sewing: After all Motifs have been crocheted, lay out Motifs on a flat surface, following the arrangement shown in the Assembly Diagram.

At the places where the ch-spaces of two adjoining Motifs meet, sew the chs tog.

To assemble the Afghan by joining the Motifs as you crochet them: Crochet neighboring Motifs tog while working the last rnd of each Motif.

Join the edges of adjoining Motifs tog by working ch-5-join instead of ch 5, and working ch-3-join instead of ch 3: ch-5-join: Ch 2, sl st in the matching ch-5 sp of adjoining Flower Motif, ch 2.

ch-3-join: Ch 1, sl st in matching ch-3 sp of adjoining Flower Motif, ch 1.
