GAUGE:
22 sts + 27 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

SOCK (make 2)
Beg at lower edge of Sock, with B, cast on 44 sts.

Divide sts onto 3 needles.

Place marker for beg of rnd.

Continuing in St st and Chart as established, work Chart Rnds 1-15.

Shape Heel Slit
Next Rnd (Chart Rnd 16): With A, k20, bind off next 20 sts, k to end.

Next Rnd (Chart Rnd 1): With B, k20, cast on 20 sts over bound-off sts of Rnd 16, k to end.

Continue in St st and Chart as established, until Chart Rnds 1-16 have been worked 3 more times.

With B, work in K2, p2 Rib worked in the rnd for 1 in.

(2.5 cm).

Bind off loosely.

FINISHING
