Additional Materials
1/2 yd. (1/2 meter) of elastic, 1/2 in. (1.3 cm) wide Sewing needle and thread
GAUGE:
Circle Motif = about 3 1/2 in. (9 cm) diameter. EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL TO THIS PROJECT. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.


INSTRUCTIONS



CIRCLE MOTIF (make 8)
Ch 3, join with sl st to form a ring.


Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in ring.

Place marker in first st for beginning of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 12 sts.
Rnd 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 18 sts.
Rnd 4: *Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 24 sts.
Fasten off.



POMPOMS (make 8)
Following package directions and leaving long tails, make 8 large pompoms.



LEG BANDS (make 2)
Cut an 8 in.

(20.5 cm) length of elastic.

With sewing needle and thread, sew ends of elastic together to form a loop.

Working over elastic loop, work dcs closely spaced to cover elastic.

Fasten off.

Rep to make a 2nd Band.



FINISHING
Arrange 4 Circles into a strip.

Sew Circle Motifs together at adjacent edges.

Tie a pompom to center of each Circle.

Sew Band to wrong side of Circle at one end of strip.

This end of strip is the top.
Ties
Join yarn with sl st on wrong side of top Circle, at one side of Band where it is sewed to circle.

Ch about 72 in.

(183 cm).

Fasten off.
Make a second tie at other side of where Band meets Circle.
Weave in ends.
