GAUGE:
16 st x 24 rows = 4 in [10 cm.] BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.
NOTES:
Potholder is worked with 3 strands of yarn held together throughout. Wind yarn into three separate balls. When starting the colored yarn, match the three strands so that the points where the color changes on each strand is the same as the others.

Row 1 Knit
Row 2, 4, 6,8, 10, 12 Knit
Row 3 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 8 stitches
Row 5 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 10 stitches
Row 7 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 12 stitches
Row 9 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 14 stitches
Row 11 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 16 stitches
Row 13 Change to B Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 18stitches
Rows 14-18, Knit
Row 19 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 20 stitches
Row 20 Knit
Row 21 Change to A, Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb -22 stitches
Row 22-24 k
Row 25 Kfb, knit until there is one stitch remaining, kfb - 24 stitches
Rows 26-32 Knit
Row 33 Change to B, K2tog, knit to end of row - 23 sts
Rows 34 -45 K2tog, knit to end of row . On row 45, there willbe 11 sts.
Row 46 K2tog , k, K2tog, K K2tog, K, K2tog - 7 sts Bind off, weavein ends
EDGING (optional)
With hook and one strand of (A), and starting at one end of the eggCh1, sc in first sc, then sc around edge, inserting hook about every 1/2 in (.5cm). Work evenly around entire edge of potholder. Fasten off, weave in ends.
