Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail into a large-eyed blunt needle. Thread tail through
remaining 4 stitches and tie off.
Do not cut yarn! Instead, starting at the bottom, sew the edge together,
joining the 'B' (white) sides to form the bottom part of the dreidel. The side that has the vertical line of stitching is the outside (this helps for a crisp corner.)
Unless your cat is extremely literate, it won't care, but if you want to, just for fun, thread another large-eyed blunt
needle with any dark color of Microspun and embroider one letter on each side of the dreidel:
Continuing with the sewing, sew two of the top edges of the dreidel closed.
Fill with catnip and sew final edge closed. Tie off securely and finish with end inside
the piece (sew through it, pull the yarn out the other side, clip and pull so the end of the
yarn is is inside the piece)
Thread the large-eyed blunt needle with about 8 inches of (A). Sew through the
top, leaving long ends for a tassel. Tie off securely. |
