GAUGE: 12 sc x 12 rows = 4 inches (10 cm square) prior to felting BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

I just made this as my first try of a felting pattern. The bowl is still drying, but this came out beautifully. will make a wonderful unique gift. Did in a non Halloween color.
Plan on making more in various colors for christmas gifts.
only suggestion for beginners is that your need to be VERY strict about your stitch marker, or you will get lost.
