Lion Brand® Fancy Fur
GAUGE: 12 sts and 10 rows to 4in. [10 cm] over St st using size 11 (8mm) needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

DOG SWEATER
Cast on 22 (34) sts. Work 2 rows even in St st.
Next (inc) row (RS) K3, m1, knit to last 3 sts, m1, k3.
Work inc row every other row 4 times more, then every 4th row once—34 (46) sts.
Work even in St st until piece measures 11 (13) in. [28 (33) cm] from beg.
SHAPE THE NECK
Next row (RS) K 9 (13) sts, attach second ball of yarn and bind off center 16 (20)
sts, k to end.
Working both sides at the same time, work even for 1 (2)in. [4 (6.5) cm].
Join two edges of neck using 3-needle bind off.
MAKE THE STRAP
Cast on 6 sts. Work in St st until piece measures 6 (7) in. [15 (18)cm]. Bind off.
FINISHING
Place strap over edge of body 5 (6)in. [12.5 (15) cm] from front edge, overlapping
2in./5cm and sew in place. Sew Velcro to loose end of strap and onto body. |
