GAUGE:
18 sts + 6 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles. Making a Gauge Swatch
Exact gauges is not imporant to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
V-st (V-stitch) (Dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated st or sp.

NOTES:
1.

Shawl begins at center back neck.

2.

The V-sts worked at the beginning, center, and end of each row increase the number of sts, to create the triangular shape.

3.

A stitch marker is used to mark the ch-1 sp at center back.

Take care to move the marker up to the ch-1 sp of center V-st as you work each row.
